Timmermans: Anti-Russian sanctions must remain part of EU strategy

Eurosouz01BRUSSELS, Mar 11 (PRIME) -- Anti-Russian sanctions must remain part of the E.U. strategy on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, First Vice President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans said at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian crisis will be on the agenda of a summit of the E.U. scheduled for March 19–20, Timmermans also said.

The fulfillment of Minsk agreements must be considered in line with measures to stimulate the countries to fulfill the agreements faithfully, and sanctions against Russia must remain part of an E.U. strategy, he said.
